Helen Siwak is a serial entrepreneur whose career spans music, film, technology, fashion, plant-based innovation, media, and strategic communications. For more than three decades, she has built ventures at the intersection of culture and commerce, consistently identifying emerging opportunities and acting decisively.

Her entrepreneurial instinct surfaced early. In 1989, shortly after arriving on the West Coast from the Canadian Prairies, she founded In Hell’s Belly, Vancouver’s first hybrid arts, culture, and activism magazine. Created outside traditional publishing systems, the title blended underground music, independent film, social commentary, and emerging fashion, giving voice to creators who operated beyond the mainstream. That foundation led her into artist management, entertainment law contracting, and producing and casting for Canadian independent film and television throughout the 1990s.

In 2005, she conceived and launched Realia Music Licensing, a digital platform designed to help independent musicians and labels secure placement opportunities at a time when access to the industry remained tightly controlled. In 2012, she entered the luxury resale market with Kitsilano Kitty’s Closet, an eCommerce platform that quickly developed a devoted clientele. By 2015, the concept evolved into TheCloset YVR, a Gastown-based luxury resale boutique recognized for its curated designer collections and unique retail experience.

In 2014, ahead of the mainstream shift toward plant-based living, she launched Vit Vit Vegan, Vancouver’s first dedicated vegan food delivery service featuring reusable containers, combining sustainability with convenience before circular systems became common practice.

Her entrepreneurial foundation led to the creation of EcoLuxLuv Communications & Marketing Inc. (ELL Comms), under which she launched Folio.YVR Luxury Lifestyle Magazine in 2019 and PORTFOLIO.YVR Business & Entrepreneurs Magazine in 2023. Both hybrid publications operate as strategic marketing vehicles for founders and brands, reflecting her belief that media, when structured intentionally, becomes an appreciating asset.

In 2026, Helen expanded ELL Comms with the launch of a dedicated media brokering division, connecting clients with respected online platforms such as UrbanAsian.com and live-streaming authority Dawn Chubai. ELL Comms also entered a national strategic partnership with Retail-Insider.com. Under the agreement, ELL Comms served as Retail Insider’s official national content and business development partner, sourcing sponsored business news stories across Canada and supporting advertising growth while maintaining editorial standards and independence. The initiative also introduced province-based navigation on Retail-Insider.com, enabling readers to access regional business and retail coverage from coast to coast.
